Coach David Blatt told reporters at practice Thursday there’s a chance Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert could return during the Cavaliers’ upcoming two-game road swing.
“There’s a chance they play,” Blatt said. “There’s also a chance they don’t.”
The Cavs (14-7) head to Orlando on Friday and are at Boston on Tuesday. They return home Thursday, Dec. 17 to face Oklahoma City.
Both Irving and Shumpert have been out all season. Irving suffered a knee injury during last season’s playoffs and missed all but Game 1 of the Finals. He underwent surgery on the knee in the summer.
Shumpert injured his wrist just before the start of training camp and also underwent surgery. He started during the final rounds of the playoffs, including the Finals.

Irving and Shumpert have both returned to practice in recent weeks, and are gradually increasing the intensity of their workouts with the team.
