Bulls cool off Magic, win by 22 on the road

The Chicago Bulls (2-5) earned their first road win of the season in impressive fashion by defeating the red-hot Orlando Magic (6-3), 105-83.

The Magic entered Friday with the best record in the Eastern Conference and an offense that was clicking on all cylinders.

The Bulls, however, played stifling defense for 48 minutes and had seven players score in double figures.

Shooting guard Justin Holiday scored 19 points, rookie forward Lauri Markkanen continued his sound start to the year with 13 points and nine rebounds, and big man Robin Lopez registered a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Evan Fournier led the Magic with 21 points, Nikola Vucevic had 14 points and Aaron Gordon added 11 points and seven rebounds.

Chicago shot 47.1 percent from the field while limiting Orlando to just 40.7 percent.

The Magic led 45-44 at halftime, but the Bulls pulled away with a big second half, outscoring Orlando 24-10 in the paint.

The Bulls will look to make it two straight when they host the New Orleans Pelicans tomorrow. Orlando, meanwhile, is off until Sunday.
