CHICAGO — The Bulls recently made a multi-year offer to power forward Bobby Portis, according to a report from the Chicago Tribune.
Portis is slated to make $2.5 million in 2018-19 and will be a restricted free agent in the summer of 2019 if he doesn’t sign an extension.
In 73 games this past season, Portis averaged 13.2 points and 6.8 rebounds, shooting 47.1 percent from the field and 35.9 percent from three.
Portis’ season got off to a rocky start. He punched former Bull Nikola Mirotic in a practice fight and was suspended for the first eight games of the season.
The Tribune is reporting that talks between the Bulls and Portis will continue.
