Chicago Bulls rookie Lauri Markkanen left Friday morning’s practice with back spasms and is considered day-to-day, the team announced.
Markkanen was the seventh overall pick in the 2017 draft out of Arizona and is the focal point of Chicago’s new rebuild project.

Markkanen was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves but traded to Chicago as part of the Jimmy Butler deal.
He showed glimpses of stardom while playing in the FIBA Eurobasket tournament for Finland, scoring in bunches from the perimeter and post.
The Bulls open their 2017-18 preseason schedule Tuesday, October 3 against the New Orleans Pelicans.
