Bulls’ Nwaba out 2-4 weeks with ankle sprain

Bulls forward David Nwaba sprained his right ankle.

CHICAGO — Chicago Bulls shooting guard David Nwaba is expected to miss two-to-four weeks as he recovers from a sprained right ankle he suffered on Saturday against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Nwaba left the United Center in a walking boot, according to head coach Fred Hoiberg.

“He’s [Nwaba] going to be probably out two-to-four weeks,” Hoiberg told reporters. “He’s got a severe ankle sprain. He’s in a walking boot but he sprained it pretty good.”

Nwaba, 24, is averaging 6.9 points and 5.5 rebounds while shooting 52.6 percent from the field and 40.0 percent from three this season in eight games.

The Bulls claimed Nwaba off waivers this summer after he was waived by the Los Angeles Lakers.
