The Chicago Bulls have signed JaKarr Sampson to a 10-day contract, the team announced in a news release.
Sampson is a 6-foot-9 forward and had been playing for the Windy City Bulls of the G League, averaging 21.0 points and 9.2 rebounds in 24 appearances.
Sampson is a Cleveland native and played his high school ball at St. Vincent-St. Mary in Akron, Ohio — the same program that produced LeBron James.
He went undrafted out of St. John’s in 2014 and has also played in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers, Sacramento Kings and Denver Nuggets.
He appeared in 22 games for the Kings last season and averaged 4.7 points and 3.5 rebounds.
The Bulls have been decimated by injuries in the final weeks of the regular season.
