Anthony struggles in MSG return; Knicks roll past OKC

Carmelo Anthony did not play well in his return to New York.

Oklahoma City Thunder small forward Carmelo Anthony made his much anticipated return to New York Saturday night and the former Knick received a tribute video before being introduced to the MSG crowd.

It was mostly cheers for Anthony by the New York faithful, although some boos were tossed around.

Anthony made his first shot of the game, a three-pointer, and scored seven points in the first quarter. After that, it was a struggle for the former All-Star, as Melo finished just 5-of-18 from the floor for 12 points and did not score in the second half.

The Knicks wound up beating the Thunder, 111-96, and were led by none other than Michael Beasley. The former No. 2 overall pick posted 30 points and scored a bevy of his buckets while being guarded by Anthony.

Courtney Lee chipped in 20 and Doug McDermott was a spark off the New York bench with 13.

For the Thunder, the loss snapped a two-game winning streak. Russell Westbrook registered 25 points, seven rebounds and seven assists while Paul George tallied 18 points.
