Carter signs one-year deal with Hawks

Vince Carter signed a one-year deal with Atlanta.

Veteran guard Vince Carter is signing a one-year deal with the Atlanta Hawks, according to multiple reports.

Carter, 41, is signing a one-year, $2.4 million deal. The Hawks want Carter around their young locker room.

Carter played with the Sacramento Kings this past season. The 20-year veteran averaged 5.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 58 games, shooting 40.3 percent from the field and 34.5 percent from three.

Carter is obviously not the athlete he once was, but is a great guy to have in the locker room and still a reliable perimeter shooter.

In 1,405 NBA games, Carter has career averages of 17.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists. He’s an eight-time All-Star and was Rookie of the Year in 1998-99 with the Toronto Raptors.
