Celtics agree to two-way contract point guard Waters

Tremont Waters entered the NBA draft following his sophomore season at LSU.

The Boston Celtics are signing rookie point guard Tremont Waters to a two-way contract, according to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.

Waters is 5-foot-11 and was selected with the No. 51 overall pick out of LSU. He averaged 15.3 points and 5.8 assists last season as a sophomore.

Each team is allowed to two-way contracts, and Waters will spend his time between the Celtics and Maine Red Claws, their affiliate in the G League.

Waters, 21, was the 2017 Gatorade Player of the Year in Connecticut (West Haven High School).
