Coach Brown: ‘Nobody is crying’ for Embiid-less 76ers

Joel Embiid and the 76ers sit in fifth place in the Eastern Conference.

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid will undergo surgery on his broken finger and will miss at least two weeks.

Embiid has a torn collateral ligament in the ring finger on his left hand.

“All of a sudden, we’re different,” 76ers coach Brett Brown said. “We’re just different. Nobody’s crying. This is not a ‘woe is me’ moment. We’ll take what we have, and what we have, I love.”

Embiid is averaging 23.4 points and 12.3 rebounds in 31 games. The 76ers (25-14) sit in fifth place in the Eastern Conference through Friday’s games.
