New Orleans Pelicans star big man DeMarcus Cousins and Indiana Pacers shooting guard Victor Oladipo have been named the NBA’s Players of the Week for Week 2.
Cousins guided the Pelicans to a 2-1 mark while putting up monster numbers, averaging 36.3 points, 16.0 rebounds and 6.3 assists.
The three-time All-Star had a successful return to his old stomping grounds, as he scored 41 points and grabbed 23 rebounds in the Pelicans’ win over the Sacramento Kings.
Cousins also registered a triple-double against the Cleveland Cavaliers, recording 29 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.
Oladipo, meanwhile, is taking full advantage of his new role with the Pacers. The 25-year-old’s usage rate with Indiana is at its highest since he entered the league and he’s flourishing so far.
The Pacers went 2-1 last week, with Oladipo averaging a staggering 28.7 points. He even hit a clutch step back three over the San Antonio Spurs to give Indiana the upset win at home.
