Favors, Jazz unlikely to renegotiate, report says

Jazz forward Derrick Favors may be potential trade bait this offseason.

Forward Derrick Favors and the Utah Jazz are unlikely to renegotiate a new contract before Tuesday’s deadline, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.

If Favors’ contract indeed continues on as is, he will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of next season.

Favors, 25, is having down year with averages of 9.4 points — down from 16.4 last season — and 6.1 rebounds.
