Free agent power forward Yante Maten has agreed to an Exhibit 10 training camp contract with the Boston Celtics, agent Austin Walton told Ben Stinar of Amico Hoops.
Maten is 6-foot-8 and appeared in two games with the Miami Heat last season as a rookie. He was on a two-way contract and spent most of his time with the Sioux Falls SkyForce of the G League.
Maten could be headed for another two-way deal, though Stinar reported he will be among those competing for the Celtics’ 15th and final roster spot.
Training camp begins Oct. 1.
An Exhibit 10 deal is a camp deal that can either be converted to a two-way deal, a standard deal or simply mean some guaranteed money for playing in the G League.
