Free agent forward Sampson signs with Pacers

Veteran forward JaKarr Sampson appeared in four games with the Bulls last season.

Free agent forward JaKarr Sampson has agreed to a one-year contract with the Indiana Pacers, according to Shams Charania of Stadium.

The deal is reportedly for the veteran’s minimum.

Sampson, 26, spent last season bouncing between the Chicago Bulls, China and the G League. In four games with the Bulls, he averaged 20.0 points and 8.0 rebounds.

Sampson went undrafted out of St. John’s in 2014 and has also spent time with the Philadelphia 76ers, Denver Nuggets and Sacramento Kings.

He is a native of Akron, Ohio, and played high school ball at St. Vincent-St. Mary from 2007-10 before transferring to Brewster (N.H.) Academy for his senior year.
