Gonzaga’s leading scorer, forward Rui Hachimura, declared for the NBA Draft on Monday, announcing his decision through the school.
“The last three years at Gonzaga have been a dream come true, and now I’d like to pursue my next dream of playing in the NBA,” Hachimura, who plans to hire an agent, wrote.
The 6-foot-8, 230-pound Hachimura, the West Coast Conference Player of the Year, averaged 19.7 points and 6.5 rebounds in helping the Bulldogs to a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Gonzaga reached the Elite 8 before being eliminated by eventual tournament runner-up Texas Tech.
