Hawks announce signing of veteran center Aldrich

Former Timberwolves big man Cole Aldrich is currently in training camp with the Hawks.

The Atlanta Hawks have announced the signing of center Cole Aldridge in a team news release.

Per ESPN 1500, Aldrich will be receiving a non-guaranteed deal for training camp.

Aldrich, 30, is 6-foot-11 and has bounced around the NBA, primarily as a reserve. He has spent time with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings, New York Knicks and Minnesota Timberwolves.

He is mostly known for being part of the trade that sent reigning NBA MVP James Harden from the Thunder to the Rockets in October 2012.

Aldrich appeared in 21 games for the Timberwolves last season. He has compiled career averages of 3.3 points and 3.1 rebounds.
