The Atlanta Hawks had a busy Sunday, signing three first-round draft picks to contracts, according to a press release from the team.
The Hawks agree to deals with Trae Young, Kevin Huerter and Omari Spellman, the team said.
The 6-foot-2 Young was taken with the fifth overall pick out of Oklahoma by the Dallas Mavericks, then traded to the Hawks along with a 2019 first-round draft pick for Luka Doncic, the third overall pick in the draft.
Huerter was selected with the 19th overall draft pick by the Hawks out of Maryland.
Spellman was chosen by Atlanta with the final pick in the first round, 30th overall, by the Hawks out of Villanova.
The Hawks also announced the three rookies join second-year players John Collins, Tyler Dorsey, Antonius Cleveland and Jaylen Morris on Atlanta’s summer-league team, which will begin competition Monday in Utah vs. Memphis (7 p.m., NBA TV).
