Miami Heat point guard Goran Dragic will exercise his player option and “wants to stay in Miami forever,” his agent told Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
Dragic’s option for next season is worth $19.2 million.
“Rumblings that the Heat are looking for a point guard upgrade didn’t stop Dragic from picking up his option,” Chris Crouse of Hoops Rumors noted. “Dragic is now eligible to be traded.”
According to Jackson, Heat president Pat Riley did not give Dragic any indication that Dragic won’t be dealt.
“Though Riley didn’t indicate that he was looking to do that, either,” Jackson added.
Dragic, 33, averaged 13.7 points and 4.8 assists last season.
