The Heat have signed Derrick Jones Jr. to a contract.

The Miami Heat have signed Derrick Jones Jr. to a contract, according to a report.

Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported the details on Jones’ deal with Miami.

Jones, a 6-foot-7, 190-pounds small forward, played in 14 games for the Heat last season after playing six for the Phoenix Suns.

In 12.3 minutes in the 20 games, he averaged 3.1 points and 1.9 rebounds, shooting 39.6 percent from the field.

For the Heat, Jones averaged 3.7 points and 2.4 rebounds.

The 21-year-old second-year man went undrafted out of Nevada-Las Vegas. He played 32 games (8 starts) as a rookie for the Phoenix Suns in the 2016-17 season.
