Hornets’ Zeller out indefinitely with torn meniscus

Cody Zeller will explore treatment options.

Charlotte Hornets center Cody Zeller suffered a torn left meniscus during Wednesday’s home loss to the Golden State Warriors and will be out indefinitely.

Zeller will explore treatment options and updates on his status will be provided when available.

The 7-footer has appeared in 19 games this season and is averaging 7.2 points and 5.5 rebounds in 19.9 minutes per game.

Zeller, 25, is the primary backup to Dwight Howard at center. The Hornets will now have to rely on Johnny O’Bryant and Treveon Graham, two players with very little experience.

The Hornets enter their Friday matchup against the Chicago Bulls with a record of 9-14.
