Hornets’ Zeller to undergo knee surgery

Cody Zeller will miss six weeks.

Charlotte Hornets center Cody Zeller suffered a torn left meniscus last week and will undergo surgery on Tuesday, according to a report by ESPN.

Zeller is expected to miss six weeks.

Zeller has appeared in 19 games this season and is averaging 7.2 points and 5.5 rebounds in 19.9 minutes per game. He is the primary backup to Dwight Howard at center.

The Hornets will now have to rely on Johnny O’Bryant and Treveon Graham, two players with very little experience.
