Dwight Howard has picked ip his player option with the Washington Wizards for the 2019-20 season, according to Zach Lowe of ESPN.
Howard played in only nine games for Washington this season, struggling with injuries all season long.
The now-33-year-old signed a two-year, $11 million deal with the Wizards last summer, a pact that included a $5.6 million player option for the 2019-20 season.
Howard’s last game this season was Nov. 18. He then underwent spinal surgery to repair herniated discs in his spine. As he was undergoing rehab, he suffered a setback with a hamstring injury in March.
