Is LeBron still a draw for free agents to sign with Lakers?

LeBron James and the Lakers are looking for help in the form of an additional star for next season.

Which free agent do LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers need to land most this summer? Which, if any, are most likely to come?

Cris Carter and Nick Wright of FOX Sports tackled the topic on First Things First, as well discussed the rumors that Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers and the Lakers may have a mutual interest.

They also gave their takes on whether the 34-year old James is even enough to attract the top free agents, as the Lakers are highly likely to miss the playoffs in his first season with the team. Let’s face it, their may better situations for the likes of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Kawhi Leonard, Kemba Walker and the rest.

Anyway, watch the entire 10-minute discussion between Carter and Wright in the video below.

The jig might be up with respect to top-tier free agents joining James in LA. People are on to James’ game or act now-they know how he operates-and if anything goes wrong, it’s not an open secret that they’re going to get blamed, not LeBron.

Call me stupid, but I wish Lebron would come back to Cleveland. Anyway LA would trade him to us if we got the first pick in this draft? Then get one more shooter to come over to Cleveland. Back to the finals.

    • You’re far from stupid Brett! I don’t think either the Lakers or LeBron are happy with the way things went in Year One … and if the Lakers don’t get any big-name free agents (they might not) … or trade for Anthony Davis (they almost definitely will be shot down) … well, you may never know what might happen at the trade deadline next year. Though to be frank, the Cavs may be leery of that contract and paying all that money to a 35-year old.
