Kalamian leaving Raptors to join Clippers as assistant

Rex Kalamian is leaving the Raptors to join the Clippers as an assistant coach, according to a report.

Toronto assistant coach Rex Kalamian is departing and will be joining Doc Rivers’ staff with the Los Angeles Clippers, according to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Kalmamian, who spent the last three seasons as a member of Dwane Casey’s staff on the Raptors since being hired by Toronto on June 29, 2015. When Casey was fired last month, Kalamian was considered to be a candidate for the head-coaching position, which eventually went to fellow assistant coach Nick Nurse.

Kalamian now joins a Clippers team that finished 10th in the Western Conference with a 42-40 record last season.
