Felder, Charge fall short in playoff opener

Kay Felde and the Canton Charge dropped Game 1 of their opening D-League series.

CANTON — Rookie point guard Kay Felder scored 31 points and passed for 12 assists, but it wasn’t enough as the Canton Charge dropped their opening game in the D-League playoffs, 112-107 to visiting Raptors 905.

The Charge must now win two straight in Toronto to avoid elimination.

Felder, on assignment from the Cavaliers, tied a Charge playoff record with his 31 points.

Jonathon Holmes added 16 points and 10 rebounds for Canton, and Roosevelt Jones went for 12 and 16, respectively.

Raptors 905 received a game-high 41 points from Axel Toupane, who went 12-of-21 shooting in 36 minutes.

Game 2 is scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. EST and can be viewed on Facebook Live.
