While the San Antonio Spurs are said to be demanding three first-round draft choices and two players from the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Kawhi Leonard, don’t expect the Los Angeles Lakers to agree on such a deal.
In an appearance on ESPNews after the announcement that LeBron James had agreed to a four-year, $154-million deal to join the Lakers, Stephen A. Smith of ESPN said the Lakers will not be including budding star Kyle Kuzma in any deal for Leonard, who has made it clear he wants out of San Antonio and prefers to be dealt to the Lakers.
“San Antonio is asking for the house, (but) Kyle Kuzma is off limits,” Smith said. “They’re not willing to surrender three picks.
“Their mentality is that Kawhi Leonard wants to be a Laker.”
