The Los Angeles Lakers have signed G-League standout Scott Machado to a 10-day contract, the team announced in a news release.
Machado is a 6-foot-1 point guard and had been playing for the South Bay Lakers. He is averaging 16.4 points and 8.0 assists and is the reigning G League Player of the Week.
Machado, 28, went undrafted out of Iona in 2012 and attended training camp with the Lakers in October. He has spent time with the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets, and played professionally overseas.
The Lakers did not re-sign guard Andre Ingram, in order to make room for Machado.
Their roster stands at 17, including two two-way players.
