Johnathan Williams will be heading to training camp with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to the team’s website.
Williams, who played for the Lakers’ squad in the recently completed Las Vegas Summer League, went undrafted out of Gonzaga, where he averaged 13.5 points, 8.3 rebounds. 1.6 assists and 1.1 blocks shots in 37 games (36 starts), shooting 56.3 percent from the field and earning first-team All-WCC recognition.
During summer-league play for Los Angeles, the 6-foot-9 forward averaged 4.4 points and 4.6 rebounds in 24.6 minutes in seven game as the Lakers finished as runner-up behind the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Lakers signed Joel Berry and Jeffrey Carroll to training-camp deals earlier this week, bringing their roster to 19 and leaving one open spot.
