Lakers have not called Warriors about GM Myers, Lacob says

No one from the Lakers has called the Warriors about GM Bob Myers, CEO Joe Lacob says.

There are whispers across the NBA landscape that have Golden State Warriors general manager Bob Myers linked to the front office of the Los Angeles Lakers.

However, Warriors CEO Joe Lacob told NBC Sports Bay Area’s Greg Papa on Warriors Playoff Central before Game 1 of a first-round playoff series against the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night here’s heard nothing from the Lakers in regard to Myers.

“No one [from the Lakers] has called me,” Lacob said. “I can say that.”

Myers is a UCLA graduate and he was based out of Los Angeles when he was an agent.

Lacob did not rule out something transpiring, though. Former Lakers president Magic Johnson resigned before Los Angeles’ season finale against the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night at Staples Center.

“We’ll have to wait and see if something like that did occur,” Lacob said. “He’s a great part of our family here and I feel very close to him. I consider him like a son, almost.

“I would be surprised by that, I guess, by that. We’ll see. I know there’s been a lot of media speculation. Things happen, so you have to be prepared for it.”
