The Los Angeles Lakers have signed free agent point guard David Stockton, the team announced in a news release.
Details of the contract were not released by it is most likely an Exhibit 10 deal that will send Stockton to the Lakers’ G League affiliate.
Stockton, 28, is 5-foot-11 and spent last season playing in Germany. He has appeared in a total of six NBA games with the Utah Jazz and Sacramento Kings.
He has also spent extensive time in the G League with the Reno Bighorns. He is the son of Hall of Famer John Stockton and brother of former G League guard Michael Stockton.
The Lakers’ roster stands at 20 after the move. In order to make room for Stockton, the Lakers waived forward Jordan Caroline, another candidate for the South Bay Lakers, the franchise’s G League affiliate.
