It may be something, it may be nothing, but in the as-the-ball-bounces of daily NBA drama, a brief exchange between LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard — headed toward unrestricted free agency this summer — being caught on tape is, if nothing else, interesting.
After Leonard and the Raptors whipped James and the Lakers on Thursday night in Toronto, 111-98, they had a brief exchange following the final buzzer.
“We’ll be in touch,” James is overheard telling Leonard at the end of a brief embrace.

While the word on the NBA rumor mill has Leonard not being interested in playing with James, it does have him being interested in Los Angeles, but with the Clippers.
Michael C. Wright of ESPN, appearing on Brian Windhorst’s podcast, said he has been told Leonard is not interested in joining the Lakers.
“That’s just what I’ve been told,” Wright said. “It’s what I’ve been told going back to last summer. I don’t see that as something that’s happening. I think he goes to the Clippers.”
It appears, though, James is not ready to run up the white flag when it comes to attempting to lure Leonard to join him on the Lakers once he hits unrestricted free agency July 1.
