Free-agent guard Shelvin Mack is nearing agreement on a one-year contract with the Memphis Grizzlies, according to a report from ESPN.
“There’s strong momentum toward a deal in the near future,” the website reported.
Mack, 28, was waived by the Orlando Magic in late June.
He played in 69 games with the Magic last season, averaging 6.3 points and 3.9 assists in 20 minutes per game.
A 2011 second-round pick of the Washington Wizards, Mack has spent time with Washington, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Utah and Orlando. He has compiled career averages of 6.4 points., 3.1 assists. and 2.0 rebounds in 399 regular-season games.
