Magic sign Carter-Williams to second 10-day deal

Magic guard Michael Carter-Williams has signed a second 10-day contract with the team.

The Orlando Magic have signed veteran point guard Michael Carter-Williams to a second 10-day contract, the team announced in a news release.

Carter’s first 10-day deal expired Sunday night.

The former Rookie of the Year started the season with the Houston Rockets, then was traded to the Chicago Bulls in January. The Bulls released him before his contract became guaranteed.

Carter-Williams, 27, has appeared in three games with the Magic, averaging 3.0 points, 4.7 assists and 2.3 rebounds. He is averaging 16.4 minutes a game with Orlando.

He was originally selected with the No. 11 overall draft pick by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2013.
