Magic sign York, Johnson to Exhibit 10 contracts

Free-agent guard Ben York has been signed by the Magic.

The Orlando Magic have signed free agent guards Gabe York and B.J. Johnson to Exhibit 10 contracts, according to Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel.

The signings were most likely designed to “fill out their Lakeland G-League roster,” Robbins reported.

York is 6-foot-3 and played both guard spots. He went undrafted out of Arizona and has played overseas and for the Erie BayHawks of the G-League.

Johnson is a 6-7 shooting guard who went undrafted out of La Salle this past June. He spent summer league playing for the Charlotte Hornets.

Exhibit 10 deals are relatively new and give players a signing bonus to sign with a G-League affiliate, should the players be waived by the parent club.
