Mavs rookie Doncic praised by Kerr, thinks he’s an All-Star

Luka Doncic is making a huge impression on Warriors coach Steve Kerr

Luka Doncic is having quite the rookie season for the Dallas Mavericks, and it goes without saying that other coaches around the league are taking notice.

One of those coaches is Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr, who has gone out of his way to praise the rookie, stating that he thinks he should be on the West All-Star team for the annual game against the East.

“He’s a brilliant player,” Kerr told reporters. “I think he’s already an All-Star. I don’t know how the votes will shake out, but he looks like an All-Star player to me.”

Doncic’s play is also getting noticed by the fans around the league, as with the second round of voting out for the game, he’s surpassed Warriors superstar Stephen Curry and is now second among Western Conference players with the highest number of votes from fans.

The only person that Doncic trail is Lakers star LeBron James, and while it’s not likely he’ll surpass him, it’s still a stunning accomplishment how good he is this quickly.

Doncic is averaging 20.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.0 assists on 43.5 percent shooting in 41 games for the Mavs.

If he continues on the trend and makes the All-Star team for the West, he will be the fourth rookie to do in the last twenty years.
