CANTON, Ohio — The Cavaliers’ minor-league affiliate in Canton has started putting together its roster, via Saturday’s D-League draft.
The Charge selected five players and all five will go toward filling the 16-man training camp roster.
The Charge’s five picks are listed below the following video of general manager Mike Gansey and his comments on the draft:
First round (No. 15)
Antonio Barton, 6-2, PG, Tennessee: Averaged 7.5 ppg for the Volunteers during his senior season of 2013-14. … Played three years at the University of Memphis before transferring to Tennessee. … Younger brother of Nuggets guard Will Barton.
Second round (No. 30)
Michael Stockton, 6-1, PG, Germany: The Charge actually drafted forward AdrianForbes here, but traded him the Grand Rapids Drive for Stockton. … Stockton is the son of NBA Hall of Famer John Stockton. … Most recently played in Germany.
Third round (No. 45)
Juvonte Reddic, 6-9, F, VCU: Averaged 11.8 and 8.4 rebounds his senior season with the Rams. … Played professionally in Italy last season.
Joel Smith, 6-4, G, Northeastern (fourth round, No. 72)
Sampson Carter, 6-8, F, UMass (fifth round, No. 91)
