The Milwaukee Bucks have waived veteran swingman Shabazz Muhammad, the team announced in a news release.
Muhammad, 26, appeared in two preseason games and averaged 8.0 points and 3.5 rebounds. He ended last season with the Bucks and signed a non-guaranteed deal with the club in August.
Muhammad is 6-foot-6 and averaged 8.5 points on 55 percent shooting in 11 games with the Bucks last year. He had spent his entire five-year career with the Minnesota Timberwolves before that. The Timberwolves bought out his contract during the season.
Assuming he clears waivers without being claimed, Muhummad will become an unrestricted free agent Saturday. The Bucks currently have 14 players under contract, with one roster spot available.
