Nuggets trade Faried, Arthur to Nets in salary dump

The Denver Nuggets are trading Kenneth Faried, Darrell Arthur, a 2019 protected first-round pick and a future second-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets for Isaiah Whitehead, according to a report from ESPN.

This was a salary dump move for the Nuggets, who will unload $21 million and waive Whitehead.

Faried is owed $13.8 million in 2018-19, the final year of his deal. The big man fell out of Denver’s rotation this past season and averaged 5.9 points and 4.8 rebounds in 32 games.

Arthur is slated to make $7.5 million next season. The forward averaged only 2.8 points per game in 2017-18.
