Zion Williamson of Duke has been the consensus projected No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft since before Christmas.
The great Jerry West, appearing on the Dan Patrick Show on Wednesday morning, said any team opting to pass on selecting Williamson with the first overall pick come June would be, well, wrong.
"I don't know how you could pass Zion Williamson [at No. 1.] … That would be like passing on Michael Jordan in the Draft I think." – Jerry West on @dpshow

The Phoenix Suns are one of three teams with a 14-percent chance at selecting No. 1 overall, the others being the New York Knicks and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Our own Sam Amico has Williamson and Murray going one-three in his most recent mock draft, with Williamson’s Blue Devils teammate, R.J. Barrett, in between at No. 2.
However, as part of a report by Sam Vecenie of The Athletic, he writes versatile Murray State point guard Ja Morant — not Williamson — is the player the Suns actually covet.
I went long on the Phoenix Suns.
-I detailed each of their core pieces’ seasons (Ayton, Booker, Bridges, Oubre, Jackson, etc.)
-Discussed their cap/free agency situation, which is real interesting.
