The Phoenix Suns weren’t finished after selecting Arizona center Deandre Ayton with the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft Thursday.
According to Yahoo Sports, the Suns also reached a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers to acquire No. 10 overall pick Miles Bridges, sending 16th overall selection Zhaire Smith to the Sixers.
The Sixers also receive a 2021 first-round pick. Both teams confirmed the trade later in the first round.
Bridges won two national titles in his three seasons at Villanova, including last season. The 6-foot-7 guard averaged 17.7 points and 5.3 rebounds this past year.
Smith is 6-5 and was considered one of the nation’s best shooters last season at Texas Tech, where he hit 56 percent from the field. He was also one of the Big 12’s premier defenders.
