Beasley lifts Knicks past Kyrie, Celtics

Michael Beasley erupted to lift the Knicks past the Celtics.

Michael Beasley scored 32 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and the New York Knicks held off the Boston Celtics 102-93 on Thursday.

Beasley’s heroics offset an ice-cold shooting night from Knicks big man Kristaps Porzingis, who finished with one point and 0-of-11 from the field.

“Just wasn’t in rhythm,” Porzingis said. “Early on the game just didn’t come to me. I tried to make some passes and I think I did the right thing a lot of times, but I just missed a few of my shots and then was out of the game.”

Kyrie Irving led the Celtics with 32 points, but went 12-of-27 shooting. The Celtics played without starter Jaylen Brown, out with Achilles tendon soreness.
