The Golden State Warriors are expected to sign veteran point guard Jose Calderon, after parting ways with guard Briante Weber, according to the San Jose Mercury News.
The Warriors had signed Weber to two 10-day contracts, but opted not to keep him for the rest of the season.
Calderon is working on a contract buyout with the Lakers.
Weber will most likely return to the D-League’s Sioux Falls Skyforce.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr admitted the team was close to a deal with a new guard Saturday, but would not name the player.
Calderon was previously linked to the Cavaliers, who instead will be joined by Deron Williams.
