Golden State Warriors guard Patrick McCaw is a restricted free agent and likely to remain with the club on his $1.7 million qualifying offer, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic.
Unlike players coming off rookie scale contracts — who become unrestricted free agents a year after accepting a qualifying offer — McCaw would be eligible for restricted free agency again next summer since he’d still have just three years of NBA experience.
In 57 games this past season, McCaw averaged 4.0 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists while shooting 40.9 percent from the field and 23.8 percent from three.
The 22-year-old suffered a gruesome back injury and missed a bevy of games as a result.
