Lopez, Lakers race past Russell, Nets

Brook Lopez of the Lakers is someone to keep an eye on in regards to a buyout, says former Cavs GM David Griffin.

Brook Lopez scored 34 points and grabbed 12 rebounds against his former team, lifting the Los Angeles Lakers to a 124-112 win over the visiting Brooklyn Nets on Friday.

Former Lakers guard D’Angelo Russell returned as a member of the Nets, scoring 17 points in the loss. His replacement in LA, rookie guard and No. 2 overall pick Lonzo Ball, struggled with 3-of-15 shooting and six points.

Kyle Kuzma added 21 points for the Lakers, Jordan Clarkson had 19, and Brandon Ingram had 18.

Allan Crabbe led the Nets with 21 points.
