Forward Tyler Cavanaugh is being waived by the Atlanta Hawks and will enter free agency, according to ESPN.
Cavanaugh just completed his rookie season after going undrafted in 2017 out of George Washington.
He compiled averages of 4.4 points and 3.3 rebounds in 39 games, shooting 36 percent on 3-pointers. Cavanaugh signed a two-way contract with the Hawks at the start of the season — with the Hawks eventually converting it into a full contract.
However, ESPN reported that “circumstances of an early option date, ankle injury and coaching change will make him a free agent.”
