Second-round draft pick Alec Peters has agreed to a two-way contract with the Phoenix Suns, according to a post from Hoops Rumors.
Peters was selected out of Valparaiso with the No. 54 overall selection in June.
He is a 6-foot-9 forward and was named Horizon League Player of the Year after averaging 23.0 points and 10.1 rebounds for the Crusaders last season.
Peters suffered a stress fracture in his foot and underwent a two-hour surgery in March, a fact that may have impacted his draft status. Along with the Suns, Peters reportedly interviewed with the Memphis Grizzlies, New York Knicks, New Orleans Pelicans and Washington Wizards prior to the draft.
Former Lamar point guard Mike James was signed to the Suns’ other two-way deal.
