Atlanta Hawks center Dewayne Dedmon is drawing significant interest ahead of this week’s trade deadline, with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Philadelphia 76ers exploring a potential deal, according to a report from the Sporting News.
Dedmon, 28, is in his fifth NBA season and first with the Hawks — who are reportedly making everyone on the roster available.
Per the Sporting News:
Ideally, the Hawks could fetch a late first-rounder for Dedmon. But first-round picks will be hard to come by on Thursday, and no one’s giving up a first-round pick for a few months of Dedmon, even as he has played better since returning.
Milwaukee was another team with interest, according to the Sporting News, but the Bucks acquired center Tyler Zeller from the Brooklyn Nets on Monday.
The Sporting News report went on to say that Hawks point guard Dennis Schroder and swingman Kent Bazemore are surprisingly garnering little interest — but that could change, as things often do, in the deadline’s final hours. The Cleveland Cavaliers are one team that has reportedly inquired about Bazemore.
Meanwhile, Dedmon is averaging 10.0 points and 7.7 rebounds in 34 games.
The NBA trade deadline is Thursday at 3 p.m. EST.
