Pelicans reportedly interested in Hawks’ Schroder

Dennis Schroder led the Hawks in both scoring and assists this past season.

The New Orleans Pelicans are interested in Atlanta Hawks point guard Dennis Schroder.

The Pelicans have had talks with the Hawks for the German point guard, though they are concerned about his issues off the court, according to a report by Fletcher Mackel od WDSU in New Orleans.

The 6-foot-1, 172-pound five-year NBA veteran averaged a career-high 19.4 points along with 6.2 assists and 1.1 steals in 67 games (all starts) for the Hawks last season.

The 24-year-old, whom the Hawks selected with the 17th overall selection in the 2013 draft, shot 43.6 percent from the field last season and 29.0 percent from beyond the 3-point arc.
