Celtics signing journeyman guard Kirkpatrick

Free-agent guard Sean Kilpatrick will sign a 10-day contract with the Boston Celtics, the Boston Herald reported.

The well-traveled Kilpatrick just completed the second of two 10-day stints with the Los Angeles Clippers — but the team opted not to re-sign him for the rest of the season.

The Celtics are without Kyrie Irving (knee), Marcus Smart (thumb), Daniel Theis (torn meniscus) and of course Gordon Hayward (ankle). Irving is undergoing a procedure Saturday on his left knee and the timetable for a return has not yet been determined.

Along with the Clippers, Kilpatrick has spent time with the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks this season. Previously, he has played for the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves.
