Celtics sign Dozier to two-way contract

Free agent guard P.J. Dozier has signed on with the Celtics.

The Boston Celtics have officially signed free-agent shooting guard P.J. Dozier to a two-way contract, according to RealGM transactions log (via HoopsRumors).

Dozier is 6-foot-6 and appeared in two game with the Oklahoma City Thunder last after going undrafted out of South Carolina in 2017. He was once considered to be among the top five or six high-school players in the country.

Dozier is the second cousin of former Celtics star Reggie Lewis, who died of a heart ailment during an offseason workout in 1993.

Dozier participated in the McDonald’s All-American Game in 2015. He averaged 12.9 points and 5.6 rebounds in 43 games with the Oklahoma City Blue of the G-League last season.

Sean Deveney of the Sporting News broke the news of Dozier’s signing back on Aug. 3.
